This Bruichladdich 'Blacker Still' is a cask strength Islay single malt, distilled in 1986 and bottled in 2006 at 50.7% ABV. It is 20 years old, matured in a first-fill oloroso and port pipe, and is bottle 1250 of 2840.
The nose is very sherried, with coffee, chocolate and prunes alongside burning leaves, kirsch and a hint of sea air. The palate is full-bodied, led by raisins and figs, then white pepper and leather. The finish is long and slowly drying, with dried fruit and green notes of tomato vine and cucumber.
