This is the Second Edition of the 'Flirtation' series from Bruichladdich, a 20 year old single malt bottled by the distillery at 46% ABV. After its maturation it was finished for five weeks in Rivesaltes casks from Cazes, made with the mourvedre grape. Its colour is strawberry jam.
The nose offers honey, vanilla and fresh melon with whiffs of wine, and red fruits and fine oak appear with time.
The palate is smooth, creamy and toffeeish, with vanilla, ripe fruits, caramelised apple and a little nutmeg. The wine notes underline the malt without overwhelming it. The finish is medium long, on toasted bread.
