Bruichladdich – Islay Barley 2012 (70cl, 50%)

This is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, part of the Islay Barley series. It was distilled in 2012 and is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley comes from the Islay farms Coull, Cruach, Dunlossit, Island Mulindry, Rockside, Starchmill and Sunderland. The whisky was matured in American oak and French wine casks. The nose is fresh and fruity, with grapes, pears, lime, malt and yeast. The palate is creamy, with malt, grain, vanilla, oak and pepper. The medium-length finish centres on oak and ginger.
