This is Bruichladdich's first Laddie Classic, which is why it is called Edition 1. It was matured in bourbon barrels, is non-chill-filtered and free of colouring, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
Crisp malted barley opens the nose, followed by soft fruit: pears in syrup, papaya and honeydew melon. Later, the sweetness of the bourbon barrels brings vanilla pods, flapjacks and a gentle trace of bourbon.
