Bruichladdich – Links 14 Years Old Royal Liverpool (70cl, 46%)

Bruichladdich Links Royal Liverpool is a 14-year-old Islay single malt, bottled by the distillery at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled, matured and bottled at Bruichladdich. The whisky was matured in red wine casks, which add a red-fruit character to the distillery's bright malt. The nose combines sea breeze and salt with plum, cherry, raisin and redcurrant, then vanilla, caramel and polished oak. The palate is silky and medium-bodied, with blackberry, blackcurrant, milk chocolate, cinnamon and gingerbread. The finish is long and balanced, with a dry, slightly tannic warmth, toffee and a hint of coastal air.
