A 13 year old single cask single malt from Bruichladdich on Islay, part of the Micro Provenance series, which explores how barley type, growing region, climate, distillation, cask and age shape flavour. This one uses Appaloosa barley and was matured in fresh oak.
It was distilled on 23 March 2011 and bottled on 23 August 2024 at a cask strength of 62.8% ABV, giving 246 bottles from cask 0893.
The nose offers sweet vanilla, toasted oak and citrus zest over a hint of sea breeze. The palate is velvety, with honeyed malt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and bright green apple and pear. The finish is medium to long, with oak spice, vanilla and a touch of briny air.
