Octomore 13.3 is the 13th edition of Bruichladdich's Octomore Islay Barley series, a heavily peated single malt at 129.3ppm. It is bottled at 61.1% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
It is made from 100% Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm, harvested in 2015 and distilled in 2016. The whisky matured for five years on Islay, in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and second-fill European oak casks that previously held wines from Rivesaltes and Ribera del Duero.
Tasting notes describe malt sugar, rose, geranium, apricot and eucalyptus on the nose. The palate is velvety, with honey, brown sugar, citrus zest and coconut.
