Bruichladdich – Octomore 15.2 (70cl, 57.9%)

Octomore 15.2 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, at 108.2 ppm and 57.9% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, harvested in 2017 and distilled in 2018. The whisky spent five years in a mix of American oak, French red wine and Cognac casks before being bottled in 2024. It is non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose shows lemon, lime zest, lemon meringue tart and lightly toasted oak. The palate is velvety, with vanilla custard, caramel, toffee and fresh black pepper. The finish is smoky and maritime.
