Octomore 16.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 59.3% ABV. It is made from 100% Scottish mainland barley, peated to 137.3 PPM.
The whisky was matured for five years in first-fill ex-American whiskey casks. It is bottled at natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose combines smouldering peat, vanilla, smoke, sea spray and charred oak. The palate brings sweet malt, caramel, coffee and smoky spice. The finish is long and warming, with intense peat and hints of citrus and salt.
