Octomore 17.3 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 60.9% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for five years in first fill bourbon casks and second fill wine casks that held Ribera del Duero, Sauternes, ice wine and Syrah. It is made from 100% Islay Concerto barley grown on Octomore Farm. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose is coastal smoke with salt, tar and medicinal notes, then warm malt, brown sugar, lemon peel, green apple and pear. The palate is full and viscous with peppery warmth, salted caramel, smoked apple and toasted coconut, before earthy, ashy peat builds. The finish is long and dry, with malty sweetness, vanilla and lingering peat.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
