A ten-year-old Octomore from Bruichladdich, released in 2018 as part of the ninth Octomore edition. It was distilled in 2008 from 100% Scottish Optic barley of the 2007 harvest, with a phenol level of 167 ppm. Bottled at 56.8% in a 70cl bottle, it is limited to 12,000 bottles. Maturation draws on first-fill Port pipes, first-fill Cognac casks and second-fill ex-American whiskey casks, with a smaller part spending time in first-fill ex-American casks, virgin oak and ex-American whiskey casks. The colour is tawny. The nose has chocolate, tobacco, bonfire and leather, with vanilla custard and blueberries. The palate is warming and spicy, with leather, tobacco and malt wrapped in earthy peat smoke, and the finish brings oak, coconut and smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
