Bruichladdich – Octomore Discovery 1695 Fèis Ìle 2014 Signed (70cl, 69.5%)

Octomore Discovery 1695 is a Bruichladdich single malt made for Fèis Ìle 2014, in a 70cl bottle at 69.5%. This is a signed bottle, one of 1,695 individually numbered, named after Martin Martin's voyage of discovery around 1695. Jim McEwan distilled it on 18 February 2007 from heavily peated malt, and it matured for seven years in Oloroso sherry casks. It was reduced with spring water from Octomore Farm before bottling. The nose is fresh and smooth, with barley and vanilla. The palate is very strong and develops into vanilla, butter, mint, lemon, orange and salt. The finish is long and warm.
