Octomore 15.2 is a super heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 57.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The barley is Scottish mainland Concerto, malted to 108.2 PPM.
The spirit was distilled in 2018 and filled into second fill wine casks (42%) and second fill bourbon casks (58%). In 2023 it was moved into first fill Cognac casks to complete its five years of maturation.
The nose offers sweet citrus, lime zest and lemon meringue pie, with toasted oak and earthy smoke. The palate is viscous, with vanilla custard, caramel, black pepper and peat smoke, and the finish is salty and maritime, with peat embers lingering.
