Bruichladdich – Old Skool 10 Years (70cl, 50%)

This is a 10 year old heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is bottled without chill-filtering and with natural colour. It pairs firm smoke with the fruit-led character of the distillery, and the oak adds sweet malt and spice. The nose is campfire smoke, sea salt, vanilla, citrus and ripe apple, with honey, malt and gentle spice. The palate is full and powerful, with peat smoke, creamy malt, caramel, vanilla and citrus, then black pepper, toasted oak and a light maritime note. The finish is long and warming, with lingering smoke, soft vanilla, spice, oak and a salty touch.
