Bruichladdich – Organic 2012

Bruichladdich Organic 2012 is an Islay single malt made from 100% Scottish barley. The barley is grown sustainably, without agrochemicals, fertilisers or pesticides. The nose opens with cereal notes of dried hay, barley straw and malty biscuit, followed by crème brûlée, coconut, butterscotch and vanilla from the oak, then floral notes with dried apricot and pear. The palate is creamy, with a peppery hint of spice, heather honey, warm scones, and American oak sweetness of vanilla, marzipan and coconut. A drop of water brings out gooseberry, pear, grapefruit, honeycomb and fudge. The finish stays malty, with almond and butterscotch.
