Bruichladdich – Organic Barley 2012 (70cl, 50%)

This is an Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, distilled in 2012 from organically grown barley and matured in bourbon casks. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The barley is sustainably farmed, and the whisky is meant to show the clarity of flavour that organic grain gives. The nose offers fudge, honeyed citrus and subtle spice. The palate is creamy and full, with butter, fudge and cereal notes and a little pepper. The finish is peppery, full-bodied and long.
