Port Charlotte PC12 Oileanach Furachail is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, bottled at 58.7% in a 70cl bottle. The tin it comes in introduces Adam Hannett as the new Master Distiller. The nose opens with smoke, salt and dark fruit, followed by raisins, toffee, sweet oak and ripe plums, with hints of cinnamon, polish and candied orange. On the palate it is rich and juicy, with dates and figs alongside peat smoke, honey, lemon and toasted oak. The finish is very long and smoky, with liquorice, dates and sweet malt.

Smoke, salt and dark fruit, then raisins, toffee, sweet oak, ripe plums, cinnamon, polish, candied orange, lemon peel, hazelnut and dates

Palate

Rich and juicy, with dates, figs, peat smoke, honey, lemon and toasted oak; apricot and green apple in the background

Finish

Very long smoke with liquorice, dates and sweet malt
