Bruichladdich The Laddie Valinch 2006 Chalice Barley is a single malt Scotch whisky from Bruichladdich, in a 50cl bottle at 61% ABV.
The nose opens very malty, with warm porridge and milky breakfast cereal, followed by ripe pears in syrup, apricots, vanilla custard, candied ginger and a bright citrus note. The palate is dense, rich and creamy, with honeyed malt, dark chocolate, raisins, berries and a buttery pastry sweetness, along with pepper and a light coastal salinity.
The finish is long and dry, with nutmeg, toasted wood, espresso and sweet crystallised fruit.
