Bruichladdich Valinch 1992 – El Classico (50cl, 50%)

This is Bruichladdich Valinch 1992, the El Classico edition, a Scotch single malt in a 50cl bottle at 50% ABV. The nose is led by chocolatey sherry and creamy milk chocolate over a background of red fruit, with light herbal tones, toasted notes, a hint of lemon and flashes of caramel. Spiced oak runs through the sweetness. The palate starts slightly watery, then turns creamy, intense and oily, balancing red berry compote, sugar and a touch of sea salt, with oak spice and a surprising minty freshness. It is more dry than sugary. The finish is medium to long and fresh, with red fruit, nuts and soft woody spice.
