This Bruichladdich belongs to the Valinch series of small, individually hand-filled cask releases, and carries a 1989 vintage. It is an Islay single malt made from unpeated spirit on traditional equipment. The whisky was finished in Côtes du Rhône wine casks, seasoned with Syrah from Guigal's Hermitage. The finish brings red berry fruit, spice and a subtle, savoury, wine-like richness to the naturally fruity and floral character of the distillery's new make.
