This is a 14 year old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, released as WMD-II 'The Yellow Submarine' at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition.
The whisky was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2005, and it spent a period finishing in Rioja wine casks.
The nose is rich and complex, with dried fruit, honey and a hint of oak. The palate is full-bodied and balanced, with ripe fruit, toffee and a touch of spice, smooth and velvety in the mouth. The finish is long, with lingering fruit and spice.
