A 14-year-old Islay single malt from Bruichladdich, released as a limited edition to mark the distillery's 25th anniversary. It is bottled at 54.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill filtration or added colour.
The whisky is unpeated, made from 100% Scottish barley, and matured in 75% first-fill bourbon barrels and 25% first- and second-fill French red wine casks.
The nose offers honeyed oats, shortbread, toasted hazelnuts and praline, with nutmeg and ginger. The palate has orange zest, honeysuckle, apple and pear, moving to crème brûlée. The finish is long, with toasted nuts, warming spice and a hint of sea salt.
