Bunnahabhain 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt in a 750ml bottle, first launched in 1979. It is unpeated, unusual for the island, and is bottled at 46.3% without chill filtration and at natural colour.
The whisky is matured for twelve years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Since the 2010 restage it has been presented at this strength without chill filtration.
The nose is fresh and aromatic, fruity and floral with hints of dried fruit. The palate is light, with fruit, nutty flavours and sweetness, and slight touches of vanilla and caramel. The finish is long and full-bodied, with a hint of sea salt.
