Bunnahabhain 15 Year Old An Cuan Garbh is an unpeated Islay single malt, bottled in 2026 at a cask strength of 51.6% in a 70cl bottle. The name is Gaelic for The Rough Sea, and it belongs to the distillery's Westering Home Collection, inspired by an Islay hymn.
The whisky spent 15 years mainly in refill bourbon casks, then finished in white wine casks from port producers in Portugal's Douro Valley. It is non-chill-filtered, has no added colouring, and was limited to 6,588 bottles.
The nose offers ripe peach, white grape, citrus, vanilla and a hint of sea air. The palate brings apricot, pear, nutmeg, oak and dark honey, and the finish is long, with lingering fruit and a mineral saltiness.
