This is a 30 year old unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2019 by Wilson & Morgan. It is 47.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
After long maturation it was finished for four years in second fill Oloroso casks. The sherry influence is restrained but noticeable, alongside the distillery's silky, flowery and waxy character, firm maltiness and honeyed notes.
Citrus builds as it opens, with orange peel, candied lemon and bergamot, then a drier, spicier side with leathery and farmy notes. It ends peppery, with hints of liquorice root.
