Bunnahabhain – Four Styles The Peaty 2014 (70cl)

A 2014 Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled as The Peaty in the Four Styles series, in a 70cl bottle. Bunnahabhain is usually known for unpeated whisky. This limited edition was distilled in 2014 and peated to a higher level than the distillery's usual style, then aged in selected casks. On the nose there is campfire smoke with dried seaweed, smoked meats and salty driftwood. The palate is oily, with smouldering peat, roasted nuts, black pepper and dark toffee. The long finish brings salted caramel and charred oak.
