This is a 12 year old Staoisha, the peated style of Bunnahabhain, from Islay. It was distilled in 2013, matured in a sherry butt and bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2026 at 55%. It has no chill-filtration or added colouring.
Bunnahabhain is usually known for unpeated malts, so the smoke here marks a different side of the distillery. The butt adds depth and darker fruit to the maritime, spicy spirit.
The nose shows salty sea air and seaweed, with roasted hazelnuts and a light veil of smoke.
