First fill Oloroso sherry butt
A 33 year old Lowland single grain from Cambus, a distillery that closed in 1993, the year this whisky was distilled. It matured in a single first fill Oloroso sherry butt from Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla in Jerez, and was bottled in May 2026 at a natural cask strength of 47% ABV. The outturn was 438 bottles. It belongs to the Unicorn Series, whose label shows the arched iron bridge over the River Devon that gave access to the distillery site. Long maturation in active Oloroso wood is described as bringing dark fruits, polished oak, caramelised sweetness and warming spice, with a silky texture.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
