Caol Ila – 10 2015/2026 Old Particular The Islay Collection Ruby Port Cask (Douglas Laing)

This is a ten-year-old Caol Ila from Islay, distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2026 by Douglas Laing in its Old Particular range. It has been finished in a Ruby Port cask. It is part of The Islay Collection, a series inspired by the island's sea, slate and distilleries. Dark grey, the colour of this label, stands for Islay's slate and peat smoke. The nose has a hint of coastal peat smoke, lemon peel and sea spray, wrapped in rich red berries. The palate brings oily smoke with candied peel, raspberry compote, black cherries and cocoa. The finish is long and warming, with spicy oak, salted chocolate and lingering red fruit sweetness.
