This is a 10 year old Caol Ila from Islay, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 by Murray McDavid for its Benchmark series. It was finished in PX sherry and Amarone casks, and 1262 bottles were filled. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose has floral notes and spicy hickory wood with ripe plums and lightly salted apricots. Grilled berries and smoky apple make up the palate, with tamarind spice, pear and nectarine. The finish is long, with the feel of glowing coals.
