Caol Ila – 10 Year Old 2016/2026 Best Dram 1st Fill St. Michael-Eppan Chardonnay Butt Finish

A ten-year-old Caol Ila from Islay, distilled on 6 June 2016 and bottled by Best Dram on 17 July 2026. The whisky was finished in a first-fill Chardonnay butt from the South Tyrolean winery St. Michael-Eppan, and 674 bottles were filled from the cask. The nose is green apple and a fresh sea note with soft vanilla and a hint of peat smoke. On the palate, bright fruit and creamy vanilla sit over maritime spice, with a restrained smokiness. The finish is dry and mineral, with a fine maritime note and a little vanilla lingering.
