This is a 10 year old Caol Ila single malt from Islay, bottled for Claxton's Exclusives range. It was distilled on 25 February 2016 and spent its whole maturation in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, before being bottled on 27 April 2026.
It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.7%, without chill-filtration and in its natural colour. The label carries a stag motif and the coordinates of the distillery.
The nose offers ripe plums and raisins with a maritime note and light peat smoke. On the palate come dark chocolate and cocoa, spicy oak and a peaty depth. The finish is long, with oak spice, smoke and a subtle sherry sweetness.
