Caol Ila – 11 Year Old Special Release 2024 (57.3%)

This is an 11 year old unpeated Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.3%. It is part of Diageo's 2024 Special Releases, under the Spirited Xchange 2.0 theme. The malt master shaped it with a shorter fermentation, and the spirit was distilled in partly filled copper stills. The aim was a full, creamy mouthfeel and a fresh green apple character. The nose is fresh and light, with green apple, soft nutty sweetness and a hint of spice. The palate is creamy, with nuts, apple and gentle spice. The finish is long and spicy, fading slowly with light fruity sweetness.
