This is an 11-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled at 57.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the Ambrosial Feast release, the second edition of Diageo's Spirited Xchange in the 2024 Special Releases.
The whisky is unpeated and was matured in refill and rejuvenated ex-wine casks, which bring out the fruity side of the spirit. A shortened fermentation gives a cloudy wort and a creamy, nutty texture, while part-filled stills allow more copper contact for fresh green apple and spicy notes.
The nose is creamy and nutty with green apple. The palate is smooth and rich, with peppery warmth, and the finish is long, dry and nutty.
