Caol Ila 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt bottled at 43% ABV. It is pale in the glass, the colour of white wine or straw.
The nose is yeasty and porridgy, with ashes, coal smoke, dried kelp, seawater and a little fresh butter. On the palate it is salty, with smoked aubergine, oysters and tart apples. The finish is medium long, saltier still and briny, with good peat.
