Caol Ila 12 Year Old is a single malt whisky in a 70cl bottle at 43% abv. The distillery was built by Hector Henderson in 1846, in a hidden cove near Port Askaig.
The nose is fresh, herbal and smoky. On the palate it is oily, with cigar leaves, smoked ham and hickory. The finish is long and peppery, with spicy warmth and smoke.
