This is a 15-year-old Caol Ila from Islay, distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2025 by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice series. It matured in a refill American hogshead, number 313534, and filled 276 bottles. It is bottled at a cask strength of 56.2% ABV, unfiltered and in natural colour.
The nose brings apple and zesty orange with smoked ham and a light veil of peat smoke. The palate offers pineapple and mango, soft almond and a rich, layered smoke. The finish is long, with juicy pear and the glow of a dying campfire.
