Caol Ila – 15 Years Old Cask 318082

This Caol Ila was distilled on Islay in 2010 and aged for 15 years. The last two years were spent in a single Amarone cask, a red wine cask from Italy's Valpolicella region. Peated malt meets red wine here. The natural sweetness and dried fruit of the Amarone cask soften the maritime smoke, while its structure brings out Caol Ila's citrus brightness and coastal salinity. Finn Thomson bottled it at natural cask strength, without chill-filtration or artificial colouring.
