This is an Islay single malt from Caol Ila, a 1990 vintage bottled at 51.5% in a 70cl bottle under the Cask of Distinction name. Caol Ila stands north of Port Askaig, right on the Sound of Islay, with a view across to Jura. It was founded in 1846, and its stillhouse was completely rebuilt in 1974 and enlarged to six stills. The distillery belongs to Diageo and produces mainly for blends, Johnnie Walker among them.
