An official bottling of Caol Ila, the Islay distillery, aged 25 years and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. Since 2010 it has been released regularly and serves as the flagship of the distillery's core range.
The nose combines sticky plaster, lemon peel, oily smoke and bonfire toffee. The palate opens sweet with lemon juice and oak, then moves to leather, black pepper, spicy ginger and sweets. The finish is long, oily and peaty.
