This is an 8 year old Caol Ila single malt from the Whisky Trail series, which has its own label. It was bottled by Elixir Distillers at 60.6% ABV.
The whisky was distilled on 14 March 2013 and bottled on 7 July 2021, from a single cask.
The nose opens with light bonfire smoke, sand and sweet citrus, followed by lemon, faint medicinal touches, salted caramel and coconut flakes. The palate is heavily peated, with warming smoke, a touch of chilli, burnt lemon zest and black peppercorns. The finish is long and smoky, with pepper and a note of burnt honey cake.
