Caol Ila – Distillers Edition (70cl, 43%)

Caol Ila Distillers Edition is an Islay single malt from the distillery at Port Askaig, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is double matured, with the second stage in American oak casks seasoned with Moscatel. The Distillers Edition series gives each malt a second maturation in a cask chosen to bring out particular flavours, while keeping to the character of the original whisky. Caol Ila's own spirit is described as floral, grassy and maritime, the result of a 55-hour fermentation and tall stills that let fewer heavy phenols through.
