Capel Alto del Carmen Reservado Pisco (75cl, 40%)

Alto del Carmen Reservado is a Chilean pisco from Capel, distilled from Moscatel and Pedro Jiménez grapes grown in the Elqui Valley, a high-elevation desert region of strong sun and cool nights. It is distilled in traditional copper pot stills and then rested without heavy ageing in wood, which softens the spirit while keeping its aromatic lift. It is bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle and works neat or in cocktails. The nose is perfumed, with fresh white grape, honeyed citrus, honeysuckle, ripe pear and a touch of orange zest. The palate is silky, with ripe Muscat grapes, citrus peel and subtle spice, and the finish is medium to long, warm and honeyed, with stone-fruit and floral notes.
