Cask Orkney 15 Year Old - A.D. Rattray (70cl, 46%)

Cask Orkney 15 Years Old is a lightly peated single malt from A.D. Rattray's Casks of Scotland series, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks. Each small batch in the series marries up to 20 casks from a single distillery. This one is bottled without chill filtration or added colour, and the edition draws on the Neolithic traditions of the Orkney Islands. The nose brings clover honey, violets and ripe peach, with smoky hints of smouldering heather. On the palate, grilled plums meet barley sugar sweets, with noble hops and caraway adding herbal and spicy notes. The long finish holds peppery smoke, set against sharp citrus and pine.
