Highland Park Ice Edition is a 17 year old single malt from Orkney, bottled at 53.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and released in spring 2016.
The edition was created as a nod to Niflheim, the world of ice, frost and fog in old Norse mythology, and to Orkney's long winters, summer frosts and fast winds.
On the nose it shows cool pineapple, mango sorbet, smoke and root ginger. The palate brings misty peat smoke and vanilla, and the finish is creamy and oily, ending in long woody notes and dry spice.
