Château Cheval Blanc 2019 Saint-Émilion (Half Bottle) (37.5cl, 14.4%)

This is the 2019 red wine of Château Cheval Blanc in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, in a 37.5cl half bottle. It is a blend of 58% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Franc and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, at 14.4% abv. In this vintage the Merlot was picked early to keep freshness and tension, while slower ripening of the Cabernet brought ideal phenolic maturity and a marked tannic presence. The nose shows raspberry, cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant with balsamic notes and a hint of pastry. The palate is lush, juicy and round, with Cabernet Franc adding freshness in the middle and length on the finish.
