Château Léoville-Las Cases 2018 Saint-Julien (75cl, 14.9%)

Château Léoville-Las Cases 2018 is a red Bordeaux from Saint-Julien, a Second Classified Growth in a 75cl bottle. The estate has been run by the same family since the late 19th century and is today owned by Jean-Hubert Delon. The blend is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, harvested between 18th September and 10th October 2018 after a hot, dry summer. The wine spent 19 months in French oak. It is full-bodied and concentrated, with dense purple colour and aromas of creme de cassis, lead pencil shavings, melon, crushed stone, tobacco and violets. The structure is precise, with fresh acidity and a mineral line running through ripe fruit.
