Chicken Cock Chanticleer is a Kentucky straight bourbon finished in Cognac barrels, bottled at 56% ABV (112 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered, and only 32 barrels were released.
The mash bill is high in rye, made up of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley.
The nose brings ripe stone fruit, vanilla cream and honey with a hint of toasted oak. The palate is full and warming, with candied cherry, banana flambé, dried plum and caramelised sugar. The finish is long, with melted butter, citrus zest, charred oak and dark spice.
