This is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon from Chicken Cock, a revived brand with roots in 19th-century American whiskey. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The mash bill is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. The bourbon is distilled and aged in Kentucky, maturing in new charred American oak barrels.
The nose combines caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak, light spice and a hint of dried apricot. On the palate there is corn sweetness, toffee, brown sugar and baking spice, with a gentle rye warmth. The finish is medium in length, with lingering caramel, oak and soft pepper.
