Chief's Son Belgian Blonde is Cask Expression Release 7 from Chief's Son Distillery, an Australian single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It brings together two whiskies. One matured in second-fill French oak ex-Apera casks, the other in first-fill French oak ex-Tawny/Port casks. The two were then married in an American oak ex-Jamaican rum barrel.
The result is described as echoing the character of a Belgian Tripel beer. The Apera casks bring honey, citrus and caramel, the Tawny/Port casks dried fruits, chocolate and pear, and the rum barrel lemonade and dark sugar.
